Student Guidelines

Along with the right to education, the student has a corresponding responsibility to co-operate fully with all persons employed by the school management and other persons who have been assigned responsibilities with respect to the service provided by the school management. Students are expected to be diligent in their discipline as would be exercised by a kind, firm and judicious parent.

Parents/guardians are obliged to give good example of gentle behaviour to their wards by respecting School management, staff and other employees of the institution. Unbecoming and unruly behaviour of the parents/guardians will result in the suspension or dismissal of wards.

The aim of the school is to develop within the students a sense of self-discipline. The true meaning of discipline is training of mind and character.

  1. Irregular attendance, unjustified or unexplained absence, habitual late coming, disobedience or objectionable behaviour of any kind may result in removal of a student from school.
  2. Children are held responsible for unnecessary or wilful damage to school property. A flat payment will be charged to help offset the cost of repairs or replacement as necessary.
  3. No student is permitted to leave the school premises except on the strength of a letter of authorization from his/her guardian.
  4. Pupils are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings. Each article should be with the pupils name. No jewellery is to be worn in the school and no cell phone is permitted in the School. Any one possessing it will be taken to task.
  5. Every child attending the school is obliged to take part in drills, games and other activities.
  6. Student shall speak in English at all time in the school premises and in the school buses without exception.
  7. On every month from 12.30 to 01.00 p.m. parents are encouraged to visit the School and discuss with the teachers regarding their wards.
  1. Students must be in school, well in time to be ready for the morning Assembly. The school gate will be closed 10 minutes before the assembly, and students who come late will not be allowed to attend school for that day. Students living outside city limits may be given special consideration.
  2. Absence from class : Staying away from school without leave is not tolerated except when the case is sudden illness or unforeseen circumstances. No leave of a absence is given nor a is a student allowed to go away from the school during school hours without a previous written application from the guardians stating the reason which must be a serious one. Whenever leave has been sanctioned, the fact should be recorded in the Regularity Record.
  3. Absence without leave is liable to punishment either with one or in any other form.
  4. After an absence from class, pupils must bring the reason duly entered in the Regularity Record stating briefly the cause of the absence or delay.
  5. Name of pupil who have been absent from school for 15 days and more without permission are liable to be struck off the rolls and may not be readmitted.
  6. Medical Certificate is necessary in case of sickness.
  7. Three weeks quarantine period must be observed for whooping Cough, Chicken pox, Measies and Mumps, Students indiicted by infectious diseases or exposed to such diseases in their homes must complete the quarantine period before rejoining school. This should be indicated in the Medical Certificate.
  1. Admission of a child in St. Peter's implies on the part of the parents a free will to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.
  2. Parents are earnestly desired that their child should attend school punctuality. Irregular attendance, unjustified or unexplained absence, habitual late coming, or objectionable behaviour of any kind on the part of the parent or student may result in the dismissal of the child.
  3. They should take general interest in the child's progress and check the school diary regularly for any remarks by the Principal or teacher concerned.
  4. Parents are not permitted to meet their child or receive them nor are they to interview teachers during school hours.
  5. No parents, servants, rickshaw puller, drives or friends are permitted to walk about in the school premises or enter class rooms.
  6. Parents should ensure that their child does not go out of station during class day and that they return to school promptly when the school reopens after long holidays.
  7. Parents are expected to attend the meetings and other functions when invited to.
  8. They should see to it that their wards are regular and punctual in attending the school.
  9. They should guide their wards to be gentle in their manners and polite in their speech.
  10. They should send their wards to the school dressed up neat and clean and see to it that their textbooks and exercise books are neat and well maintained.
  11. They should check the notebooks of their wards and insist that their wards are diligent in their wards are diligent in their home works and lessons.
